Anyone know what kind of bird that makes a small croaking sound like a little frog? These things drive me nuts trying to see them. They come around to check me out almost every sit no matter where I go. Every year they come around while I'm sitting a stand and just let out a little croak. I can't find them even with binocs. Must be some kind of Wren. And very tiny! Once its real cold they vanish. Head south I guess. I've never been able to pick one out.

I've just noticed that croak since I started hunting the bowzone. Never heard it out west. I just figured it was a toad even though some days it would have been too cold for an amphibian. I hear them all the time when I'm in the treestand. I'll have to try to see one.

They're not ravens. They are on the ground and come close to your stand. Sounds exactly like a frog.
