This will be the last knife I get finished for the OKCA this weekend, and I thought I would get everyone's opinion on it. This is kind of a style I have been trying out lately, with the integral guard and more pronounced plunge cuts. This one has brown canvas micarta, w/ ruby red G10 liners. The OAL is 9.75", with a 4.5" blade of .214" 5160. What do you all think? Critiques are welcome!

Honestly, I think this is a AWESOME KNIFE!!! I was looking at another one you had done with the same design as this one and loved it! Really like how you did the integral guard. I mean I'm brand new to the knife making thing but this thing is sweet.

Nice knife indeed! The only thing I would change, would be a tapered tang... but that is just me. Cheers David

My favorite style of the knives you build. Like Lin says, you should definitely keep it in your line. I personally prefer shorter blades, so something with a cutting edge that is 3 to 3 1/2 inches long would be more what I would like as a typical field blade, but the knife you have built would do just about anything I would want. I too would find a tapered tang more appealing. The micarta and G-10 are a good combination and are well done. 5160 is one of my favorite steels, with 52100 rating a little higher in that group. This is a very nice knife and one you should be proud to show. The sheath is well executed too.

I really like the knife with one exception. Bear in mind that I don't make knives, but I do use them. It appears to me that the handle has too much of a point above the lanyard hole. It could get very uncomfortable sitting in the seat of your truck. Other than that, it is super.

Honestly, this is one sweet looking knife. Well done once again, Ben. Wish I could make it to the show to check them all out first-hand.

I like the blade and the size is to my liking. I know that you can do a lot with a little. But I like to have more if you need it. That is nice.

i think thats an ideal knife for survival and all around work blade. may not be a perfect chopper or perfect skinner or perfect for any task as far as that goes but it will do all task required of a knife! thats what i look for in a all around carry knife. only thing you didnt put on for the specs is the blade width. looks to be about 3/16" but not sure if it were to be a full 1/4" would tolorate alot of heavy use. all and all i think you will have a great fallowing with this blade shape. awesome job.

I think this knife looks really nice and agree with the others-you should keep it in your lineup. That style of finger guard may turn some off, but others on-it provides protection without the bulk that some don't like with a hidden tang style. I also really like the shape of the blade-is that false edge sharp? I also tend to like tapered tangs (they just look cool ).
Great job and I look forward to hearing how the show goes.
