I notice most people mention TB2 for gluing up stuff, even all wood laminated bows, but not much mention of TB3. Is TB2 better or are they interchangeable? Will one or the other work just as well as Urac for an all wood laminated bow?

Thanks,

Randy, I think most of the reason people talk about TB2 is TB3 isn't sold everywhere yet. TB3 is better in my book, it's waterproof and has a little longer working time than TB2. Urac has it's place, if your joint isn't perfect, Urac fills the gaps, like in a splice. Also people get comfortable using one glue and stick to it, no pun intended. [Big Grin]

Any of the water based wood glues like the TB glues or Elmers will work fine with wood bows for backings, etc. For splices, I agree that Urac is probably better but the others have held many splices together over the years.

TB3 has a good reputation. It certainly is as good, or better than TB2. That said, I'll Use TB for rawhide and cloth backings, but I prefer Urac for wood laminates.
