Looking at the Bear bow's at Bass Pro yesterday.Look's like plywood. To me,it's not pretty, there's just something about it.

I dont think of dymond wood as plywood but rather manufactured lumber. I have used it in bow building and love working with it. Very stable which is a good thing and you can get some neat patterns and such. Here is a pic of a bow that I am building right now using manufactured lumber.

If it was brown or gray or a combo of both it was actionwood, not dymondwood.

Nice bow Pete. WOW.
Actually I went to Dymondwood's website and they use maple as their vener's. So various thin maple slices that are died different colors.

If you go to Bears website, they state that the bow's are made from Dymond wood.Either way,i suppose it is still "manufactured wood"Pete, your bow look's much better than the Grizzley I looked at.

Thanks Will,

The main diff between plywood and dymond wood is that the grain of the different veneers run in the same direction in actionwood and dymond wood. In plywood the grain of the wood runs at a 90 degree angles every other layer.
