I have a monarch longbow that has green dyed feather wood for the limbs. Very pretty and somewhat unique. Does anyone know what feather wood actually is, maybe hickory cut cross grain? SL

I thought it was elm also at first but the grain is pretty course for elm. Somebody must know. I might pick up a scrap of hickory and cut it to see what it looks like angle cut. SL

The pic I posted is American Elm. Sometimes called Gray Elm.
