I picked up a used sander from craigs list works great but I dont like the stock side table that came with it. It is rickety to say the least and with the setup the way it is you cant get it square to the table, there is too much movement.
On the internet there is a homemade edge sander that has a table with 90 deg wood brackets supporting the table. Looks like it would work better, have any of you had this experience and what did you do?

do you have pics?maybe steer me to the homemade solution?
i have the bench-top model[same set up]
and although its design is less than perfect--it seems functional--now the end table set-up!rickety is a perfect description--i find that 80%of the time i'm free handing [off table]any how

Google homemade edgesander and there are some pics. I havent done anything with mine yet but soon. I just free handed some limbs to clean off the glue and that was fast.
