I was at work tonight and was sent to take care of this little guy....
Actually was just shy of 4ft. long. I was gonna return him to the woods, however, before I could get to him a neighbor man beat him to death with a shovel and was screaming like a girl the whole time. I tried not to laugh, and managed to until I left. I preserved him by placing in a small bag and into the P.D.'s fridge since I was the only one on and didn't have time to skin him out right then. I plan on trying my hand at skinning and fleshing out this AM and using what's not torn or damaged from the neighbor man's snake smashing, try to use some of the skin for some arrow wraps...Good or Bad Idea??? Any suggestions or recommendations since this is my first time with a snake? I've done a little reading of previous posts and it looks pretty straight forward, BUT, I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks in advance.

Just spilt it down the belly and skin him. stretch it out on a board and air dry, no salt or borax or anything. When dry just roll it up and put it a zip lock.

How long will the skin last in a ziplock? If you couldn't use it for a while, should you do anything different to it? Ernie
