I know he hunts with a Black Canyon longbow, but do any of you who know him know the specs: one piece or take-down; length; poundage? Thanks.

Give Mike Hays at Black Canyon a call and he can give you the specs. keeps a folder on every bow he builds.

He had an article in the Oct/Nov Trad Bowhunter that said he was using a 62" 56# takedown longbow. The body of the article also mentioned that he shoots a 53# bow as well.

Guys; I shoot a 50# Black Canyon longbow. It was 56#, but in Nov 2011 I was hunting deer in Nebr and accidently tore my left bi-cep muscle loose. I had Mike Hays -who makes the Black Canyon, take a few lbs off the bow so I could still shoot it. I probably could shoot a 55# again, but will stick with the 50# for now. Old age I guess!!

TTT. For those asking about Black Canyon bows. Pretty good endorsement right there.
