I bought a beautiful 62 kodiak last year and it shoots great ,,but recently I noticed a surface crack in the finish that goes horizontal across the limb....I put loctite 420 in the crack and it sealed nicely....My opinion is the 62 was refinished and it appears that the finishing coat is quite thick and was wondering if the thick finish could be the reason this happened ....opinions please...Bowdoc ? anyone..I shot it after the loctite application and it appears sound (wore protective glasses) when testing... any feedback appreciated....

Those finish cracks are common in the fade out area. The loc tite wont be needed for that. The glass will have vertical stress cracks sometimes which some fill with loc tite.

I have seen the horizontal cracks numerous times and so far they have always been cosmetic. I think if they were deeper than finish you would see the limb fail pretty quickly just from normal stress.
