Some of you out there may know about Abner Shepherdson and his legacy. I have a Shepherdson 48 lb. longbow and will include some images if anyone is interested, (Not sure how to post pics on this site). I would appreciate any info regarding historical background of Shepherdson any of you may have. A beautiful bow, heat-stamped, missing parts of the horns.

There's bits & pieces about him in the NAA history & mentions in Robert Elmer's Archery, American Archery, Target Archery. There's his patent on his take-apart/joint mechanism for longbows, which features in the bow that Jack Churchill is purported to have used to shoot the German sentry in WWII.
