I don't get to do much bowfishing but the opportunity arose last night and I jumped at it!

Action Shot:

 -

Here is the haul. 123 fish between 3 guys. Mostly plecos, but also talapia, perch, shad, common carp, gar, and sucker fish.

 -

Those plecos are so ugly they are kind of cool looking:

 -

I used a Bob Lee recurve (53#@29") and an AMS Retriever reel.

See ya later,

Bisch

Congrats Bisch. Looks like you made up for lost time. The Talapia and Perch are some good eating fish.

PLECOSTOMUS - It is the same fish that you see in aquariums, only they get BIG in the river. The are native to South America. Someone let some go in the Guadalupe River and they have multiplied like crazy. They are destructive to the habitat. They are not any good to eat. (the talapia and all the perch are great table fare).

Danny, I had no clue these existed in Texas until about two weeks ago when I saw a pic in another forum. After talking to the guy who posted the pic, I ended up being invited to go with him and his son. It was a hoot and I'm ready to try it again.

In my last job we sold a lot of plecos. They came from another fish farm after a hurricane and we couldn't catch/sell them fast enough to keep populations in check.

Those Tilapia can be the same way. at least they are good to eat.

Nice Haul.
