What the heck is a pleco? I lived in Texas most of my life and never seen or heard of them, are they an exoctic invasive species? snakehead?

PLECOSTOMUS - It is the same fish that you see in aquariums, only they get BIG in the river. The are native to South America. Someone let some go in the Guadalupe River and they have multiplied like crazy. They are destructive to the habitat. They are not any good to eat. (the talapia and all the perch are great table fare).
Danny, I had no clue these existed in Texas until about two weeks ago when I saw a pic in another forum. After talking to the guy who posted the pic, I ended up being invited to go with him and his son. It was a hoot and I'm ready to try it again.

In my last job we sold a lot of plecos. They came from another fish farm after a hurricane and we couldn't catch/sell them fast enough to keep populations in check.
Those Tilapia can be the same way. at least they are good to eat.

Shoot a bunch of those "PLECOSTOMUS" ... skin them!!! there's got to be something I can put those skins on
