Let's bring this one back to the top.

I've been thinking about trying these out of my 50# @ 28" Turkey Creek LB. I'm drawing it to about 29", so I need at least a 30" arrow.

I like to shoot alot of weight up front. My current GTs have a total of 300 grains up front. With the ADs I'd probably end up with about 350 grains up front, since I haven't seen a 50 grain brass insert available for them. Do you think I'll be able to get the ADs tuned with this much weight up front? It seems like everybody uses alot less point weight.

I use the traditional heavies cut 28" with 225 grains up front. My draw is 26" and I shoot them out of a SAIII Widow at 52#. They weigh around 585 grains total and fly unbelievably well.

I ordered a MOAB 47# at my 28" draw and want to purchase some arrow dynamic shafts to shoot out of it. Have been shooting 125 grain broadheads. Would the trad lites be best? Also, how much weight will I need up front? Thanks

azhunter , Trad lite would be what I would recommend , weight up front depends on what you want for finished arrow weight and what you ended up cutting them to.
The raw shaft is 320 grains - 9.5 gpi
Personally I would shoot them with a standard insert at 29" and adjust with a heavier point.

Rather than starting a new thread I'll ask my question here and hope people are still reading this one. I am trying out some AD trad lites for the first time. I'm shooting 50# at 28. They are cut currently at 30.5 and I'm trying to decide between 200 and 250 grain heads based on the test kit I have. I have been bareshaft shooting them and I can't see a difference. I've heard these arrows are very resilient to different point weights but this is crazy. If there is no observable differences, what reasons are there for one over the other? Obviously the 250's would allow for greater penetration but the 200's would have a flatter trajactory. I'm also trying to decide on the best single blade BH with a screw-in insert that is the same weight. Suggestions?

Texasrecurve81,I don't see any noticeable difference in flight with 50 grs change in overall arrow weight,at hunting ranges. If they both shot well,I would pick the one with more weight up front.

There are plenty of good 160 gr 2 blade broadheads that could be glued to 100 gr steel adaptors for a 260 gr head. You can even grind 10 grs off the end of the steel adaptor to get them exactly 250 grs.160 gr Gizzlies and 160 gr STOS come to mind.

Jim, thanks for the feedback. That seems to be the way to go. I've been shooting shorter distances with them so my last step will be to get out to about 30 yrds which is longest shot. If I don't notice much difference there I'm going to go with the 250's.
