Schnitz,
Don't feel bad, I've put more time on the ground in the archery season than I ever have and the only thing the BH's out of my Hickory bow sticks into is the dirt! This evening was no different. Between the does busting me and the bucks getting missed I am realizing that this is much more challenging than first thought.
Cheers to those that make this happen.

I think that stalking and stillhunting has got to be the hardest way to get a deer. That is why I love it so much. Trying for eight years. Had many "close ones" but no cigar. Still loads of fun! Something about eye to eye hunting that turns me on.

Been playing with them on the ground for the last three weeks, and it is a hoot. A whole lot more challenge than playing like a bird in the trees, but challenge is why we took up bows in the first place, isn't it? If I don't get one on the ground, the world will continue to turn. I'll be out there tomorrow, probably getting busted again, but ain't it fun?

I'm with you. Saw my first two in 3.5 weeks Friday but had to let them walk, they were just a tad outside my range. I was back out that night and this morning though. I love it.
