I am thinking about starting to build my own bows. I would like input on any dvd or books that are the best as far as "how to". I have never attemped to build a bow and want to learn as much as possible about the technical understanding on how a bow works as well as laminating techniques. I would be interested in 1 piece recurves, longbow & hybrid,ref/def designs. I have some ideas of my own I'd like to try as well but do not have any experience at all. Any help would be great. Thanks, John

Your best bet is to start at Binghams. They specialize in helping people get started with laminated bows. They have a web-site, just type in Binghams in to your search function. Enjoy the ride brother. You are also on one of the best info sources there is. Use the search feature and archived build alongs.

For natural materials bows get yourself a hold of the traditional bowyer's bibles volumes 1 and 2 especially. This will give you a good base of knowledge on bow physics and basic design and tillering. Highly recommended! If looking for laminated bow building, go with binghams. Good luck, Matt
