i was wondering my dad is retired and wanted to start making long bows so he has something to do what would be the best dvd or book on making your own longbows

Why don't you buy him all 3 editions of the "Bowyer's Bible" [thumbsup]

It would give him some very interesting reading too!!!!!

Selfbows are really cool because each one is truely unique.Also as you become more "experianced" you can see your bow building skills progress with each one you build.

BTW, Wish him a Happy Retirement for me!!!!!
