I was shooting the bale target in the background when I saw the rattlesnake. I moved up to about 10 yards and shot it...the arrow piercing the jaw hinge / venom sacs. It continued rattling and maintaing the strike posture for like half an hour till I pinned it down and dispatched it. I sure don't like having these around the kids !!!!

Neither one of those would be fun to have a run in with. Nice Pic's though!

I saw my first swarm a couple weeks ago. It was about 18" long and 9" across. It had a sapling bent over almost to the ground. It was there two days then dissapeared. Then I found fresh bear dung only feet away. Perhaps the bear was messin' with them or they found a new hive site.

Sure was cool to finally see a swarm like that.

They'll buzz for a bit after the hit.

I hate snakes.

I like them on bows, that's it.

Believe or not but when bees are swarming it's hard to get them to sting unless you hurt the Queen then watch out. When they are flying in a swarm you can bang 2 pieces of metal together and the swarm will go down to a spot like you saw. Bee keepers dom this to catch a swarm. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
