you know, the ones ya almost cant even see... I have lived with these dang things for ever in the spring thru fall and after literally being eaten alive last week huntin, I finally got to think some one has a method of effectively keepin them off..as I have never been able to.. any good ideas?? thanks

Everyone seems to recommend Repel Permanone. I got some, laced an outfit with it, let it dry, and wore it into tickville hunting yesterday. Found nothing on me. Seems effective so far. For the record, I soaked myself with Off (DEET) the last time I was out, and couldn't keep the ticks off my pantlegs. Hundreds of them. The off slowed them down but didn't stop them by any stretch.

Permanone... lasts good and is very effective. Almost died from a tick infection several years ago and now I use the Permanone... won't go in the woods without it.

Nasty seed ticks. I've had them three years straight and twice this year. Been lucky only had "glancing" blows this year. While wearing shorts I've actually felt the ticks hit after the mother tick explodes. Nasty as can be. I started to carry 29% Deet just for these almost invisible ticks.

I get them all the time, but they don't cause me to itch. At the first stage they don't carry Lyme disease either.

Permethrin(its whats in permanone), follow the directions! It does'nt smell! It kills ticks, skeeteres, and chiggers. Last through several washings IF you follow the directions.AND it doesnt SMELL!! You wont hunt to many times round here without it. Mild winters just dont kill them nasty buggers! Did I say it doesnt smell!!!

Preston, yea, we were huntin Missouri last week and like ya said, had millions.. I am still tore up with them. We have them just as bad here, I am reluctant to spray with anything, but gotta do something..

TNStickn-that is the stuff i use when i cruise timber. That stuff is well worth the money IMO. Earlier this summer, i was treated for RMSF and Lyme disease because of a damn tick. I spray head to toe, cover up, boots, tuck pants in, etc. I enjoy the fall burns when ya can literally hear the lil buggers "explode" when they get lit by the thousands.

Just for those that don't know... The Pemanone/Permethrin is sprayed on your clothing and allowed to dry before wearing and is not recommended to put on skin.

Back before I discovered Permanone, I used to carry a roll of wide tape in my pocket/pouch. That's the best way I know of to remove them dudes when they get on you and start crawling. But I much prefer to let them die the permanone death...
