I use a flipper rest cut the bottom so it sits close to the shef about a 1/4" its holds the arrow in place and its just high enough to help the arrow clear the shelf.

Hunting with Jim Jones, bowyer of Firefly LBs- I noticed he actually just taped the toothpick/matchstick to the riser (one wrap of electrical tape). After the season it comes off. . . good idea.
