I have always wanted to try a one of Ron La Clair's Shrew bows. So when my good friend Jamie Gaffey (Gaff) traded for a Classic Hunter and said he loved it, I had to try one. I traded my precious Black Widow PSAX for a 58" Super Shrew Deluxe. Let me start by saying I love to carry light bows, but I have never found one I could shoot as good as a heavier bow like my PSA. When I pulled it out of the package I could not get over how natural the grip felt. It was like someone took a mold of my hand and sent it to Ron. I took it out and shot a few arrows. This bow was AWESOME!! It was almost like it aimed itself. I couldn't stand it, I had to go break it in. In Oklahoma we have a bad armadillo problem, so the hunt was on. I only had about 30 minutes until dark, so I went to one of my best dilla huntin grounds. I shot six times and killed six armadillos. It was almost like I couldn't miss. My hat is off to Ron and Greg for making the most impressive bow I have ever shot. I will be a life long Shrew fan.

Come on down we have plenty of them. I chased them around yesterday, but never got a shot. I was worried about the dramatic switch myself. Not anymore!

Yup, that grip is the best I have found. I am still kicking myself for selling my Classic Hunter. Being new and ill-informed, I had ordered it too heavy. I think I'm going to have to get another! Congrats!!!

Something sweet about longbows in general IMO. You got yourself a good one. Im loving my Griffin, and Im pretty sure thats one of the reasons Gaff made the jump.

I will try to get some pics. I am usually at work when I'm on here so I can't post pics. Poison arrow, my draw length is 27.5. The 58" doesn't stack up at all. That is why I want to try a shorter one someday.

I shoot a 56" Classic Hunter, and, at 32" of a draw, I am short drawing it. Smooooooooth all the way back to my anchor. The bow was scaled by Gregg, and gains a constant 2.5#/in from 26/27 to 32". I don't feel any stacking at 32+". These are really sweet bows!
