I'm set on ordering a straight limbed longbow from Steve at NM. I talked to him on Saturday and he was super to deal with. While talking to Steve, I thought I was set on the Whisper model but now I'm second guessing myself. Even though I've never shot one, I like the reverse handle concept of the Whisper- but actually like the apearance and traditional asthetics of the Classic and Shelton style better. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My personal opinion is all are great but the Shelton is a tad above the rest......

The Shelton is a real sweet bow, would not let mine go for any price. Super smooth, quiet and shoots where I am looking. Easy to tune.
I have shot the Whisper and the Classic at Steve's, and they are both super shooting bows also. The Shelton is just... smooth. That being said, I will be ordering a Whisper from Steve in a couple weeks. You really cannot go wrong with any of Steves' bows

I have a Superior and a Baraga, I think I would go with the Whisper. Any one will be a good choice!

I owned a Classic and it was a sweet bow, but when i got the Shelton, the Classic was sold, and I have another Shelton on order. String follow longbows are sweeeeet.

If you're from South Central PA I would HIGHLY suggest that you come to the Baltimore Traditional Classic in May and shoot some of Steve's bows. He'll be there and usually brings a nice assortment of bows for you to try out or buy on the spot.
If you're going to have to order one you would wait that long anyway to get it. Steve is a busy guy with orders. Right now he's gearing up for the Kalamazoo Expo.
On second thought, if you were ambitious enough to drive to Michigan you could go to Kalamazoo at the end of the month and shoot some there!

Whisper for sure, once you shoot the reverse handle models you will never look back. I only own Hill style longbows, but after I shot a Whisper I fell in love with the way they shoot. My next bow for sure.

I own several of Steves bows, classics, whispers superiors and sheltons. The shelton is my favorite followed closely by the classic, then the whisper then superior. The shelton is smooth and forgiving IMO the best bow he makes.
