I'm with you stephan. Gotta get a set of the carbon hycurve limbs! But I really think the tripple carbon longbow limbs are as smooth as my old habu recurve..which actually is one of the last ones Chris made. The hycurve limbs will be smoother yet, and the one I borrowed from you was for sure the best shooting "recurve" I have ever had. Really thinking I better get on the list for those limbs soon.

Sounds like Chris is still doing some great work. I've had one of his bows for close to 18 years, and still have not shot a smoother bow. I'm currently looking for a new toy, and not wanting to wait 2 years. Those of you that have shot a lot of bows have any suggestions?

Kevin

I absolutely never intended to spend so much money.

I had shot my buddies original Vyperkahn numerous times over a 4-5 year period. The draw was much heavier than an I was accustomed to, yet shot significantly more comfortable than any of my bows that I had literally shot 1000's of times.

I gave-in and and have been extremely pleased that I did.

Try before you buy if at all possible. The bow is a wonderful match for me however may be a total mismatch for someoneelse. Yes, if I had money to blow I would order another one in Bocote.

If this bow is a personal fit, then it is money well spent.

Congrats on your new beuatiful treasure.

Kevin, call Chris. He is making a few bows here and there out of what he considers to be lesser woods. By this I mean he is making a few bows out of woods that he does not consider to be exhibition grade. He does not advertise it, because people are always calling him, and they normally sell as soon as he has them done. They are exactly the same bow, and same performance, just not the wood of his choice and they are a bit cheaper.
If that is not an option...then just get on the list. You do not have to give him a deposit untill 3 months before your bow is scheduled to be built. At that point, you will have to pay him in full for the bow, but if you cannot swing it...you can either go to the end of the line, or just cancel the order all together.

I'll give him a call. I want another one of his bows, just looking at some of the other stuff on the market and would like to have the looks of something else on my wall. What I'm leaning toward most is a Blacktail... any Blacktail shooters?

Blacktail's grip a very different(high grip)but I'm sure Norm can match any grip.
Not sure about the area of your Habu but Bill Dunn at Zipper has a grip much like my VK and builds a wonderful bow.
Back to the Blcktail,
I beleive Norm's waiting list is quite long as well.I'm working w/ Stalker bows and he builds the Brack like bow as well but w/ a limb design more like the Habu(thick core and narrow tips).South's turn around time is about 6 weeks

Another thing I am not seeing mentioned here is he is also making an economy model out of actionwood in the riser with no pretty limb wood lamination cosmetic overlays. Material cost savings and this model is the fastest longbow he produces because it is bare bones with his best limbs to date with no added weight of pretty wood cosmetics. So to sum it up, his cheapest model is strangely also the highest performance model. Jim
