Well Folks, I just came in from the backyard archery range and I have to say: I am impressed! Let me begin by saying I have been shooting 60/65# POC's, Tapered Cedars and Tapered Sitka Spruce out of my 3 Mohawk Longbows.About a week ago I was cruising the Sponsor Classifieds and found Joe Loenzens Add. He had a dozen beautiful Douglas Fir Surewood Shaft finished arrows in 60/65#'s. If you hit his add on the Classifieds they are the first ones still listed. Joe goes by jlnft here on Trad Gang. Well I wanted to try Surewoods for a while now so I bought them. I have to say I am impressed. They are like lazer guided rockets! Talk about making a quiet bow even more quiet if you can believe it. Vince from Mohawk had told me to try Wood out of my Mohawks years ago. The only thing I do not like about them is trying to pull them out of my 3-D Deer target! I have to use 2 hands and some muscle. Unreal penetration. So, if you are considering trying Woodies out of your bow, consider Surewood Douglas Firs.AND if you see any shafts listed by Joe Lorezen do yourself a favor and buy them! Beautiful Craftsmanship at a bargin price! Posts: 6963 | From: pequannock n.j. | Registered: Apr 2005

try spraying some silicone on the bottom half of them and it will make them easier to pull out of the target....course you have to hit the same spot each time to make full use of the silicone otherwise you will need to re-coat them periodically.. :-)

Mudd Sponsors Classifieds. The title says sold but the pictures are still there. Under jlnft. Jerry, I can't believe the difference in penetration. The arrows actually go deeper than the Cedars and the Spruce. What gettin' Old 56 ain't old I don't think. I can still lick my weight in Bobcats. LOL! Thanks bentpole
