I have had my share of big name bows and then some, but have always turned up my nose at Zippers thinking that the risers looked squatty and unbalanced. Recently after seeing pics of my buddy Tom Jenkin's Zipper and trading numerous emails & PM's with him I decided to trade one of my longbows for a Zipper that was posted here in the classifieds. I'M HERE TO TELL YOU THAT I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! The Zipper, in particular, the SXT, has the best grip of any bow that I have ever owned or shot bar none. The bow is extremely well balanced and pardon the pun...really zips an arrow. This bow points great, is dead in the hand, church mouse quiet and dead on accurate. If you get the chance you owe it to yourself to give one a try....Zippers Rock!!

What Fred has left out is he has called Bill and ordered one with his preferred woods. Can't wait to see that thing. I would say this bow will be on the classifieds when the new one arrives. Hint,Hint.

I had my misgivings about the zipper bows for a while too until I decided to try one out for myself. A 13" SXT ILF riser that I got on the classifieds with a set of tradtech longbow limbs. I am also extremely impressed with the feel and workmanship of his riser. One of these days I'm going to have him make a set of XL limbs to go with it.
I didn't think I would like the finger grooves but after trying them I found them to be very comfortable. Posts: 246 | From: Anchorage, AK | Registered: Apr 2003

I bought a used one at Denton in 2010, then an extra set of longbow limbs, Now I just got a new ILF riser from Bill that I saw at Denton this year. I'm not a total snob.......but they are nice. I'm shooting my new one as well as I ever shot anything!

My first Zipper was an UGLY looking standard that Bill had named Black Beauty. He had it discounted at Compton's a few yers back and I kept shooting it against the rest of the bows, much prettier bows, and finally realized that not only was this bow a great value, but a great shooter. It is now my bowfishing bow, and I am thinking of stripping her down and hunting with her. She just has "IT". My favorite overall riser is the ZSR and I love Bill's EVO limbs. I currently own 3 different Zippers. Can't find a better bowyer to deal with, although Chuck and South are pretty good bowyers also!
