I have always used the Damascus gloves from 3 rivers and love them.I like to keep a spare at all times but gave it to a mate a while ago when he started trad and told him he could replace it when he did his next order from 3R.He did that but the one that came is a much thinner glove made from what seems to be a differant leather.Anyone else found this..?
Cheers KIM

Yes. The one I recently purchased was thinner than the one before. I added a couple inserts into the finger stalls made from plastic cut from a yogurt container. It stiffened it up a bit and it feels better shooting, but the leather is wearing faster than the older versions.

Yes, the last one that I got was thinner and a smoother leather than what I had before. I like the old ones better, but maybe the new ones are fine.

Same here. The older ones had finger tabs of cordovan leather, and the rest of mine wore out before the finger tips did. The new ones are not the same, and I don't recommend them. If you find one like the older ones, I'd sure like to know.

I always used damascus before, then switched to a goat skin glove and I really like it.

Seems to be a sign of the times. Manufactures cut quality and jack up prices.

Bought one last year that was kinda thin. This year I got another that seems like my old ones. I just Go to a store that carries them and look through the ones they have.

Hmmm. I just bought a new one. I like the thin feel. Time will tell about it wearing out.

I've noticed the change also and wasn't sure if I liked it or not. BUT, when I shoot with my older glove I get string squeek. It doesn't happen with the newer, thinner gloves. So, if I'm hunting I use the newer one.

I bought one two weeks ago from 3 rivers and the stitching is allready coming out. I can't recommend. Good feel but poor construction.

Try a Black Widow PDQ glove. I believe the only place you can buy them is from BW.
