The season opener was an extremley warm day. Very little shooting and not much movement by hunters or deer.

Last Saturday was just the opposite.Cold, clear and deer were on the go,at least in the morning.

Sat in a tree stand and saw two shooter bucks and a dozen plus does in the a.m. Everything out of range of course and surprising to me,they were all out in the open. Sat until 10:00,took a break and was back in to climb up again at 12:00.

Max is cinched up and ready for the hoist....

Here are a couple views from the stand. I am sitting just off the edge of a bedding area that is really thick. The wind is "variable"

This is looking to the east.......

These girls got bumped out shortly after I got back up in the tree. They were about 80 yards away and I zoomed in on them. Look close, they blend in.

As eventful as the morning was,the afternoon really slowed down after the doe left the area.

A couple more hours to go....

So,what do you do when you are sitting in a tree and it gets a little slow? Who wants to guess how many legs are in a "Cat Whisker"?

Sat until 4:30, then quietly got down out of the tree and hunted my way back out of the woods. It was a great day and I was very thankful that I got to experience it all.

I will be on the ground this Saturday and see if I can connect the dots. Take care.

Assume slideshow! Thanks...

You spend far too much time trimming cat whiskers BTW! Perfect sphere...or a tropical conclusion?
