Pretty cool. Reminds me a little of southern New Mexico. Tough country and tough deer. Thanks for sharing with us.

Ahhhh- memories!! Awesome. I am jealous. . javis, lions, coues' deer, and mulies. ALL in one place.
These midwestern young guys need to forget trying to own their corner 80 and food plots, yada yada. . .and head west- hundreds of thousands of acres- FREE!

Glad you guys are enjoying the video..... I let the javie app deadline slip away from me. I figured I'd pick up a leftover first come first serve tag but they were sold out for my unit this year, so I don't have a javie tag in pocket. The beauty of bowhunting AZ this time of year is that you can almost hunt anything that moves in the desert. I will be sharing a little story of an encounter I had on this hunt that I consider a very rare encounter. I still have to edit the video........ Thanks...... Terry

Hey Terry that Big fork at the end of your video looks like he has a piece of antler in his neck? Blake

Terry, what area were you hunting? South of Tucson? I moved back to Indiana from Phoenix a few years back. Your video really made me miss the desert.

Blake...... I couldn't figure out if that was antler in his neck or a chunk of Cholla. That buck had me puzzled on several counts. Our typical desert Muleys have narrow, high racks, and usually not a lot of mass, the real good ones will have deep forks. There were a couple of real good ones in this area two seasons ago I was hoping to meet up with. When I saw this big forkie I was amazed at how wide he was. At first I thought he was an old regressive buck but after looking at him in the videos I would have a hard time placing him over 4 1/2 years old. He actually is a 3x2 if you look close. I looked the mountain over real good and he was the big boy in there this year so far. I am heading back out next weekend for another go at it.
JJB2..... That area is definitely in southern AZ... .... Terry
