I couldn't answer your poll because I only own recurves.

Since I don't own any longbows and the poll wants me to also choose a string length for a longbow, your poll won't allow me to vote.

I'm with Night Wing, except I only have longbows. And, are you talking about actual string length or bow length?

Thanks guys,
The poll is flawed and I can't edit it. The only solution is for you guys to go out and buy more bows [Smile]

The other flaw is that people may be answering in bow length not string length.

The poll is asking for string length. ie the length in inches of the string from loop end to loop end.

i only shoot longbows. You will probably find a lot of folks on here shoot one or the other but not both. Delete your poll and start over. That would be cheaper than us having to go out and buy more bows. [Razz] [wavey]

If this helps, both of my recurves are 66" in length and they have 62" bowstrings installed on them.

I don't want to ask everyone who has voted to start over. If you would please post your string length like Night Wing did and I will add that to the poll and repost a summary when the poll is done.

Varies a lot--that's the reason I don't stock strings, but make them as ordered. Generic answer:

Recurves: 52", 54", 56", 58", 60"
Longbows: 57", 59", 61", 63", 65"

Huh? I don't get it.

Are you just looking to find out what the most popular string length is?

I usually go with rule of thumb - 4" shorter than bow length for recurves, 3" shorter for longbows.

It depends entirely on the length of the bow I'm using so the question is sort of pointless to me ...my answer could be anywhere from 56" to 64". [Confused]

Want to pre-make some bow strings so I was curious to see if there were sizes that are common.
