Tuesday was the first chance i have had to give the Waldrop pack seat a try so i headed to one of my old stomping grounds on a Mississippi island i had left one of my old folding seats down there an i need to retrieve it so i put one of my favorite fanny packs on the pac seat an off i went.. - its hard to believe its been over 33 years sense i trapped muskrats off of this island i used to paddle my canoe across the main slough to check my traps this beaver dam has been here quit a while - just thought this would make a good picture to look back on some day. - the islands are very hard to stalk on the floor is covered with dead branches an downed trees from the many years of being underwater when the river is high. - the ducks are finding the open water to swim in as the sun rises i wish you could have heard them there had to be a couple hundred on the main slough - it looks like a older scrape from November or so in one of the few more open areas on the island that are hard to come by. - ive been walking awhile now so its time to take my pac seat off my back an take a short rest eat some jerky an have a drink of water..i have heard some comments that it looks like the seat is to close to the ground.it does look that way but i have to tell you..its VERY comfortable an i can get right up out of it really easy an shoot my 64" longbow with no problem i had 4 or 5 inches of lower limb clearance while shooting at a few stumps..but just about the time i was getting up i heard something coming.. i will post more pictures a little later... i can here it comeing from the south louder an louder i can see some movement through the tree limbs - snow geese by the thousands they must have flew over for 15 mins an tried bombing me i could see the splashes in the slough but lucky there were no direct hits..so i picked up my pac seat an started to continue my trip when over to the east about 100 yards i see this.. - - i have to say i have never seen a beaver make a hut out of a broken off hollow silver maple he piled sticks all over the top an was using the hollow log for his hut its hard to see with the sun in the background but it was really interesting seeing how he came in next to the stump an entered the log..now that the river is down he has left the hut for now.. - ok.. i have hunted in tree stands many times but the feller that hunts in this stand has to be an iron worker!!! this stand is at least 35 feet i hope he wears a harness. - so i finally make it to my folding chair an strap it on my pac seat im telling you with the sholder straps an the waist belt you don't even know the extra's are on there..i have to say thank you to David Waldrop the best seat i have ever had..thank you..an thanks for going with me im not much of a story teller but it was fun... Gray Buffalo be warned if you sit in it you'll have to have one.

It is by far "hands down" the very best hunting seat I have ever used.

Fore warned is fore armed...lol

God bless,Mudd
