I would like to just sit around a fire and listen to Howard Hill, Fred Bear, Saxton Pope, Art Young, Glen St. Charles, Chief Compton, basically anyone in the Bowhunters Hall of Fame, talk about public land, elk, roads, wilderness and where traditional bowhunters ought to fit in the scheme of things.

Yep, me too Pat, that would have been the greatest. I envy those who have.... I did get to meet Jay and shoot bows along side him at a traditional rendezvous. Has been one of the highlights of my life.
Hanging with Pope, Young, and Ishi would have been cool, but for hunting along side and sharing a campfire with the early modern era pioneers, Roy case comes to mind. It would have been great to go tag along with Fred Bear and Glenn St Charles on the Little Delta.
Got to meet Glenn St Charles at a rendezvous also, and will never forget (and had a good chuckle) this paraphrase of him in front of a crowd - "camouflage clothing is a gimmick, you don't need camo"...8^) Bout spit my drink, but bet a few sponsors just cringed...8^)
As for the question what would you ask them… A lot, but in what order depends upon the campfire and the drink in hand….8^)

I like to ask any of them about when the bug bit them - the moment they knew they'd rather hunt and shoot like an Indian more than like a cowboy.
