We are headed for the Sloan Ranch in early March for the Wensel Pig Gigg. Checking the calendar; I noticed we will have a full moon in the middle of the week. Will the moon phase affect pig movement much? What about hunting at night?

Days leading up to full moon always best and few days after. Full moon has produced skinny results for me in past. Bait them well hunt them hard - I'd sleep until midnight then go out, early morning hours always best for me when full moon in.

We hunted full moon last year at the "Gig" had good action from just after dark until around 11pm.Found more hogs in the early morning than in the afternoon. Planned this year for the full moon week. If the sky is clear it's pretty bright.

Looking forward to the experience. I don't know about using a light, but I've practised by moonlight before, and can hit about as good as in daylight.
Can pigs see well at night?

10-2 am and 10-2pm are best times. Get downwind and sneak, bed hunting during the day if posible. I chose the new moon week on purpose. We are leaving this SAT am.
