I'm considering camo'ing up a bow for fun. I have an older pearson cougar that I've sanded down for refinishing. I like the idea of ASAT style camo, but most of the bows I've seen done use a light green as the final spray, so that is their main color. The woods where I hunt is mostly older trees so I would think gray bark color would match better.

I'm thinking layering black, then dark green, then a little brown, then a lighter gray in a sort of ASAT pattern. Any thoughts?

You could always take a scrap 2x4 and do that to it and see how it turns out, maybe post a pic of it and ask what everyone thinks? That way it would save yourself some work on the bow itself if you do not like how it looks!

Gray, tan and black in layers would look fine. Just cut stencils of different patterns and alternate them. then it all blends together. Even in your woods other colors do exist you just dont notice cause they are not the prominent color. It will be fine.

Which color would you reccomend for the final color since it will be the most dominant?

I would lay a base of tan and add the stencil of gray, then black. look at some ASAT material the black always stands out and the gray to me is second.
