Well folks I was back in the states on leave and found out my BB was stolen. What makes it worse is that it was my father that did it. He was supposed to send me a tube with my bow, a hand tooled tube quiver, and about 2 dozen arrows to me shortly after I was stationed in Germany. I never got it and he went incommunicado and 1.5 years later I go back and found out that he pawned it all along with 3 other cheap bows and most likely one of my rifles. He refused to talk to me and there was nothing I or the sheriffs department could do.
So if any of ya in near south MO picked up a 57@28 tulipwood buffalo bow just know that it was stolen property and that it was stolen from a serviceman while stationed overseas.

What a knife in the back. I am sorry. Do you need a loaner bow to hold you over?

Oh my, a stolen bow is bad enough, but stolen trust and losing a father, devastating. I wish I could help you somehow. But an old lady can't be a father, and a bow of mine might be close but no match. I can make arrows, and simple quivers.
I can join you in righteous anger, but to heal your heart will take your own years and tears, and an iron promise to yourself to be a true father to your children, and to show them the ways of honesty, loyalty, respect and love.
If my poor offerings could be of any use, PM me. Thank you for your service. Doing what you do makes it possible for me to do what I do. Killdeer

Don't know how far you want to go with it since he is your father and don't know what state this happened in, but here in Oklahoma- false declaration of ownership at a pawn shop is a felony.
If he claimed them as his own and sold or pawned them then he can be prosecuted.

I lost a 1959 MGA 1600 the same way. Left it with my dad to sell, then when I got married over in Germany my wife said let's keep it. I wrote him and told him not to sell it and he said too late - it was already sold. Later claimed it was stolen and I never saw a dime. I think there are times it's better to hold your tongue, bite the bullet, take the hit, or whatever you want to call it. We parted friends when he died. That would probably not have been the case if I'd called him a liar.

By the way, my wife is going over to Germany for a family reunion. If you would like to borrow my 50# Whisperstick recurve or 45# Shakespere recurve, she could probably carry it over there. She's going initially to Amsterdam for a few days, but then back down into Germany planning to tour Bavaria. I don't think poundage is an issue as you won't be hunbting with it over there :-(

Blake-sorry to hear this happened to you. These are hard times and people are doing bad things that they normally would not do. There is much negativity in this country and we are forgetting how we should be treating eachother. God bless your father and you. I hope you get your bow back somehow! Thanks.
