I must admit I was a little skeptical about this short but sweet looking little bow. I have a couple of Two Tracks long walkers & love them. Everytime I visited Chuck I would look at & admire this little bow, I'm a hunter first and an archer second and this little bow just looked sweet for maneuvering thru the woods.

But, I have read numerous times a longbow is more forgiving to mistakes, I'm not an excellent shot by any means, my goal in traditional archery is to keep them within a paper plate & that's good to go hunting with, I consider myself a 15 -18 yard hunter.

Today I left the longbow in the house & went stumpshooting with a good friend. I told him I need to find out if I can shoot this little bow [Roll Eyes] yes I was skeptical & nervous I bought something I might not be able to hunt with.

I can tell you I was blown away with how good this bow shot for me ! I was hitting plastic 20 ounce pop bottles at 20 & 25 yards ! That is amazing for me !

I honestly don't know if the bow is that amazing (I think Chuck sprinkled some magic dust on it ! ) or the stories of a longbow's being more forgiving are lies.

I went into shooting this bow as a skeptic, I am now an Ambush fan. I warned Chuck by email today another Ambush is in my future !

Have others found that they can shoot a short recurve better than a longbow ?

Dan

Glad it is the bow yo hoped for. I hope to add one to the stable some day.

I have LOTS of longbows and only 1 recurve. The recurve is an Ambush by Two Tracks, and it gets regular rotation. I love the way it draws and especially how it casts a heavy wood shaft. Chuck is a mighty fine Craftsman. I believe if more people shot the Ambush, he would sell a whole bunch more.

I'm glad your happy with yours.

I recently sold an ambush, not because I didn't like it or because I couldn't shoot it. Actucally I shot it pretty good for my ability and it looked cool, but as far as shooting a short recurve better than a longbow, not even close for me. I shoot longbows much better than recurves or any length, but everyone is different.

I sold one of the prettiest bows I've ever owned - an Ambush with water moccasin skins. I shot it well (for me), but with my long draw, I was at the bow's max draw and also at my max weight . Figured it could only go downhill as I got older. Sure was a sweet bow, though. Still get the urge to order one around 42@28. At 29.5", that would more than adequate for deer.

Oh boy, now I can't wait for mine to get finished! I ordered an ambush made with Osage core and Honduran rosewood riser that im expecting around the 1st of july. It's gonna be 60# @ 28 and I can't wait to slay some piggies with it this summer then some whitetail this fall! Everything I hear about chucks bows is positive and makes me more anxious every day.

Sounds like a good match for you. Im amazed how good these short recurves some are making shoot so good. I might have to try a Ambush sometime. Enjoy yours!
