o.k. i got my first dozen shafts(douglas fir)..i want to make some basic arrows...so,what could i use from a hardware store for glueing fletching and sealer...i have a jo-jan fletcher also...i will go over to bi-mart to see if the have any fletching glue for the feathers...any info would be great..john

minwax stain minwax poly duco cement should be available at most hardwares have fun and be sure to post pics of the finished product

The above are good. I would add tung oil and superglue to the list. The gel super glues are nice, but any will work.

Minwax stain Truoil duco cement latex gloves 0000 steel wool Stain with the Minwax. After drying, buff shaft with steel wool. Put on latex gloves and use fingers to smooth on a thin coat of Truoil. Let dry overnight. Buff with steel wool. Continue for 3 to 4 coats. Fletch with Duco. It don't get much easier than that. It also does a great job.
