How many coats of wipe-on poly do you put on your woodies to seal them?

I dip mine in wipe-on poly from Minwax. Toughest finish I've found yet.....I really don't care if it yellows some.
Dipped 2x, with 0000 steel wool in between. I use the high glossy coat. If I want it dulled I steel wool after last dip has dried for a few days.

After burnt, stained, crowned and crested, one dipp of Minwax Polycrylic highgloss. Huntin shafts are lightly steelwooled to dull finish. That stuff is thick and heavy. If you want more weight then dipp more. :-)

1 coat after staining,1 coat after crowning,2-3 after cresting.I advise multiple coats due to the fact you are putting it on by hand and you want a good amount transferred to the shaft.
