So sorry for your loss. I wish I'd had a dad that I could remember memories like yours with. You are very blessed to have had him for your dad. Cherish all those memories. Prayer sent for you and yours.

My father also died at 85, I was 51 so I enjoyed our relationship a long time. That was 7 years ago, I miss him all the time. Prayers to you and yours.

Sorry to hear of your loss Steve. It sounds like you will have many memories and stories to pass on about him. The greatest legacy we leave are the values and memories passed to our children.
My Dad passed in 1996 at age 62 - 2 months before retiring from the RR. So many things remind me of him. When I hear a squirrel barking I recall trying to walk in his footsteps as a pre-teen without making noise in the woods. I learned when he passed that he kept newspaper clippings in his wallet about some of my track and professional accomplishments.
So often these past 17 years I've wanted to pick up the phone and share some wild adventure...
I miss him right now.
