I made a couple feather rests and really like them. Used 5 feathers, 1" long, 3/8" high with the two outer feathers 1/16" higher, mounted on thin piece of leather. glued them down tight against each other. Lasted all fall and winter. Making a few more up now.

I don't like Velcro. Maybe it's just in my head but it seems like the fletching would easily get caught up in it and throw the shot off. I like seal skin the best but it is not legal to sell anymore.

I really like thin pigskin leather with the nap exposed. Last way longer than velcro.

Leather. If that's not available, I use leather. If leather is not available, I still use leather.

I was using some of the velcro like material from 3Rivers but it always seems to leave a NASTY residue that is really hard to remove. I hate that. Now I am using some of that really thin "superpad" material from them but it doesn;t seem like it will last long...

All the used bows I have bought have had velcro. Works fine, even with the less than perfect grinds on my turkey feathers. When it wears out I go to sealskin. I was able to get two pieces at a Cabela's on close out. I have enough to last for a few years.
