With deer season getting closer everyday and my chance at my first deer with a tradbow closing in, I find myself laying in bed at night too excited to sleep. [knothead] Not to mention that I just scheduled a hot hunt with Pennington Creek in Oklahoma for labor day weekend, and Chuck emailed me and said my two tracks ambush recurve is almost done!! Holy guacamole! how will I ever sleep?!?

Anyone else having this problem? what hunt or bow is making you too excited to sleep?? Just thought it'd be a fun little post [Big Grin]

Not losing any sleep just yet.

Good luck on getting your first trad deer with your new bow!

Heck I lose sleep from excitement the night before 3d shoot, opening day of deer and turkey season, and anytime I've got shooting my recurve on my mind.

This year I should be losing sleep or at least perpetually grinning, but not quite yet.

I tested an airline bag with 65 pounds of gear this past weekend to Canada (work) and it worked great.

I'm going to begin a daily count-down on July 1st and a very specific practice regime that will be different from my normal whitetail deer season prep.

I am not losing any sleep yet, but I am increasing the intensity of my practice. Usually, I get excited and more active about July, but this spring it hit me in May. My goal this year is to be proficient and feel confident at 25 yards. This would be a 5 yard gain in effective range. By August things usually get very antsy anticipating September opening day.
