I have a Pack Idaho (since became Bison Pack) FTO and it is plenty of pack for day of hunting. I could overnight in it if I had to. Expandable top bag could carry 50 or 60 pounds of meat. Great pack, rides well. Mine is made of wool. Beware of getting a pack too large because you will fill it up and carry too much.

Might look at the Eberlestock X2 pack. Well designed and built tough. You can pack that first load of meat with it also.

I like the Hill People Gear, Tarahumara. Or a small bag attached to my Kifaru Longhunter frame if I plan to carry meat.

Take a look at the Bison Gear and the Eberlestock X2. I own and love both.
Bison Gear -- Very comfortable to wear and really transfers the weight off the shoulders to your hip. Stays low on your back so it does not get caught up on overhanging brush.
X2 -- Comfortable but not able to transfer the weight off the shoulders as well as the BG. It has a metal frame that makes carrying heavier loads more comfortable. Very versatile. See review I did on mine last year for more info on the possibilites with this pack.

PS -- If you go with the X2, definitely contact Whip when you get ready to purchase. Great customer service and can answer any questions you may have.

I am really impressed with the quality and thought that went into the BisonGear Teton pack. It is a little different than some of BisonGear's other styles, but is very well made and about the same price as similar Badlands. It is a little heavier, but mine is Predator Fall Grey wool and should last forever. I don't know why you don't hear much about this pack, although the 1 pic on the website does not do it justice.
