I have been looking for one of John's 68-69' Super Kodiak like recurves in my weight range for some time. Got lucky and found one.

This one has the black phenolic riser, red accent stripes, Rosewood caps. The limbs have bamboo cores sandwiched between black glass.

Specifications are 62", 48# @ 28". With a 8-1/2" brace it is stable and quiet and shoots a 570 grain arrow real quick.

I think with this acquisition I have owned all of the bows that John builds. I have never had one that was not a good shooter.

I'll try to post a photo tomorrow.

Is there a 12 step program for a Big River addiction?

I never go away from the longbow but I every now and again need to confirm what I do not like about recurves which is really all about noise.

If I could get them as quiet as a longbow things might be diffeent.

Come opening day I will most likely have a Hill style bow in hand.
