I have made up my mind on a VPA for my broadhead and would like to know which blade count would be best for a 45lb longbow. What have you had luck with. Thanks!

I have had both of them, and I like the 2 blade better. I too shoot a fairly light bow 49# and I would rather not worry about penetration, plus I can get 2 blades heads much sharper than a 3 blade.

It seems like every picture of trad hunters on their facebook page used the 3 blade and had pass throughs even one 43# on a bear. Are they pretty much even shooters, Just user preference?

Optimize your over-all arrow design, then take your pic.

What are going to hunt? For whitetails I would pick the one you can get the sharpest.

I was very impressed with the performance, durability and penetration of the 3 blade last season. Using a light bow it still busted right through shoulder bone for me.

Do not let sharpening be a deciding factor. The 3 blades are the easiest 3 blade to get scary sharp I have ever used and they will give plenty of penetration on deer, bear. sharpening is minimal, ust a few passes on a fine stone or ceramic type stick and they are popping hair off arm.

Shot through the foam and bounced one of my 3 blade 175s off of a brick wall... twice. The tip will have to be shaped again with a file bit still shoots just as good as it did brand new. I love them. Three of them are going to Wyoming with me on my elk hunt.

would the 3 blade have a more even wind drag than a 2 blade. Is there enough drag to make a difference?

maybe if you wanna get scientific but in everyday hunting scenarios not worth talking about the three blades fly like field tips if everything else is right with your setup, and you get the extra cut of the third blade. Let me tell you they make alot of blood and it is noticably different than two blades in my in field experiences. simple math 3 is greater than 2

I'm going with the 3 blade vpa on my 45# whip.
This is for whitetails.
