Ken, this time listen up! It is good to hear that you have made a medical appointment. Do what the doctor tells you so that you don't have further complications. Take whatever steps are necessary so that in the future you will still be able to pull a bow. We all hope to hear of improvement soon. Good luck.

I hurt my neck in a pretty rough collision playing hockey 2 weeks ago. Bulging disc, lots of pain, nerve pinch causing numbness and pain all down my arm... It really affected me for the bad at home, at work, and everywhere in between. The pain has begun to subside now, but ugh!

I went to the doc right away, got an MRI, figured what the problem was and wasn't. While I may be done playing competitive hockey now, it looks like I'll still be able to shoot all my bows.

I'm with the rest of the crowd here.... Go see your M.D.

now I am very angary and frustrated on how the course of this ridiculous insurance thing works! I got xrays which show dislocation but need an MRI to see farther damage. workmans comp has to ok MRI which takes up to 2 weeks!!!! got put on light duty so I do not loose work time. I hate waiting, hurting and waiting on paper work to be pushed through!!!!!!

Get pre approved, and get documentation before having the MRI. I just got a letter - 3 days after I had my MRI - that said the insurance doesn't approve and won't cover it! I received verbal confirmation of a pre approval, but don't know if that's going to get me anywhere.

Ken, first and foremost the best to you and family!

No matter how ugly they can be, if you follow thru, properly, laws are in place!

Now,also remember the company has a commitment to it's customers and so takes this hard stance!

Remember the posts, up÷# messed up my bow! Or to Killy, the Post o#\€=€£ lost my bow!
They have a commitment, also! This is their hardline!

Not to preach, but being able to pull a bow is last on your priorities!
I pray for your family and all who call you friend!

went to Albany to see Doctor Flick the bone and joint specialist. very smart nice doc, he was the assistant team physician to both the Chicago Cubs and Bulls for years. wanted to start fresh with me so took his own x-rays rather then rely on the doc I had been to. took one look and said I had a major injury that should have had immediate surgery. I have lost (fractured and gone) %30 of my shoulder socket and have a torn labrum. he said the problem is its been a month and it is healing on its own, its to late now for surgery that would have fixed it, I'll never get it back again now unless when he checks me in another month he determines it will not heal properly in which case now I am facing major reconstructive shoulder surgery. to same I am frustrated and pissed off is a understatement. I asked him if it heals ok on its own what will the problem be? he said as he told me %30 is gone I will not be able to have full range of movement in certain areas like reaching directly behind me and down and above my head and back where the ball can no longer rotate in the part of the socket I lost. nothing to do but wait a month and pick my poison when I go in for a check up....

Man, that is tough news. Very sorry to hear this, Buddy. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and I sure hope it is better news in a month. Try to stay positive in the interim. But I know that'll be tough, too. [pray]

Dang, Son...that is not good news... Was hoping for better as were you and we all!

Nice to relate to the specialist, but I'd still try a 2nd opinion..."too late"????

I Have an 83 yr old neighbor with bad arthritis and the one surgeon wanted to do a shoulder replacement...at 83!

Sorry to hear that Ken. I echo Doc, get another opinion, not to say that a well respected MD like you just saw is not right, but sometimes another set of eyes or different way of thinking can solve a problem. Continued prayers for you, your family, and your recovery.
