Hey woodswalker2, where are you looking to do some hog hunting? I'm in Northern VA and apparently we have some hogs south of me, closer to the middle of VA, probably an hour north of Richmond.

I am not going to be picky about the place, as I have never got to hunt hogs. However if you might consider having a hunting partner I would love to try and put something together. I think any time spent in the woods is worthwhile, even if I don't take any game. I am twenty eight years old I think I can make those hogs worry a bit.

I live in central Mississippi and we are covered up with hogs, plenty of public land to hunt here (over 100,000 acres), could give you some places to check out.

I've been checking some things out trying to put together a future DIY hog hunt and Eastern Tennesse/Western North Carolina may be a good place to start. There is some public land in both places and hogs are both considered nuissance animals so you can hunt them year round with no bag limit I believe.

they have changed the hog hunting regulations in tn . There is no hog hunting allowed in tn except during deer season on a few wma's.

Look at Fort Stewart Georgia. You have to buy a $60 year permit to hunt there, but a three day out of state liscence is only 20 bucks. I have a couple of buddies that go down there and they usually bring home 2-3 hogs per 2 day trip. As far as Western NC goes, yes there are hogs here, but not in high numbers yet. I am in the woods all of the time. I have seen plenty of bear, quite a few deer, but never any hogs.
