I own a Tilley and love it, but I have never used it for hunting or hiking. I have other hats, far cheaper than my Tilley, for those jobs. I've always looked at my Tilley as my "Sunday Go to Meeting" head cover, and it is always with me when I'm on vacation. After viewing this post maybe I should re-evaluate my priorities when it comes to head covers. Thumbs up for a great hat made by a great customer service oriented company. They are well worth the money. [thumbsup]

Owned the same Tilley for over 20 years. Still looks and works great.

I bought one in the late 80's. I wore it plenty. Got into competitive FITA Olympic archery and it was perfect and the brim didn't interfere with the string. I made a mistake though, I didn't heed Tilley's instructions and didn't wash it enough. My toxic sweat rotted the fabric in the forehead. Of course Tilley replaced it. So my purchase has been good for over 25 years. I bought the light nylon one for summer use that I wear now in the heat. Great hats for sailing with the chin strap it won't blow off. And for cold weather hunting you might look at their wool one that has fold down ear flaps to keep your ears warm. You can tell I'm a fan, right?

I have the same one I reviewed above(2012). Looks as good today as the day I bought it. One of the great things about Tilley hats is they fit those of use with big noggins. Tough to find a size 8 in the everyday marketplace. For that reason my Tilley Airflow LTM5 will be on my head in New Orleans next week. [campfire]

I use mine every day and for hunting, hiking and travel. I have two. Never any stain -- ever and each has gone through numerous washings, not gentle cycle. Love how they can handle being crumpled up and washed and still hold their shape. Exceptional hats.
