My wife was kind enough to get me a nice two knife set from knives of Alaska. I have the Cub and Muskrat and must say they are great knives. Extremely well made and very functional. The muskrat is a great skinning knife and makes quick work when skinning beaver. The cub is all I use now for filed dressing and opeing up pelts for skinning. The knives came with a nice double leather sheath and is now part of my hunting and trapping kit.

I also own this set, but I carry the "Muskrat" in a neck sheath whenever I head out to hunt. The "Muskrat" is the best all-around skinning knife I've ever owned. The "Cub " is particularly good for the fine work of turning the ears, etc. Both knives are well made and hold a hair splitting edge.

I have owned the Brown Bear Combination Set I think since Dec 2000, which includes the heavy-duty Brown Bear Skinner/Cleaver with the Cub Bear Caping Knife and a high quality sharpening steel in the same sheath. I have used them in the lower 48, Canada and even Alaska. They worked great! Only con, is that they are big and heavy. [thumbsup]

No matter how you slice it...it tastes that much better when it was earned the hard way.

I have the Brown Bear set and LOVE it! I even use it to butcher my chickens each year!

I think I own 6 of their knives, must like 'em or just spending money, one is in my pocket now, the ulu helps me process hides, the fillet knife is good on fish and boning out deer, the cleaver and caper is in my hunting pack, and the spoon/fork/knife combo was a nice fathers day gift the goes in my day pack, never know when it going to be time to eat and yea might want some utensiles...had a problem once with the cleaver....customer service what great! much more than I expected!
