Thank guys...we're getting along just fine.
"Killed" her first stumps yesterday on an outing with the kids. Not sure how to capture the true beauty of this bow, but I'm trying... • • • • •
As far as any difference between my #57 Kwyk Styk with regular recurve limbs, and this #57 Raven static tipped recurve...lets see....
Speed wise...
Hard to say if one is quicker than the other. They seem to bare shaft just about identicle, and I don't have a chrono....so until I can get to one...we'll call it about even.
The feel is a bit different how they balance "in hand" with a full quiver...
The KS because of the forward riser and belly mount limbs puts the weight further back...so there's a feeling of weight "behind the bow" to me.
The Raven with the quiver and arrows closer to "center mass" gives a more balanced feel to me.
But to be honest, I never felt any difference in how my KS's balance till I shot the Raven for a while and started shooting them side-by-side. It would be a personal preference. If shot without quivers, the difference in balance would be even less I think.
Now smoothness...
So far I feel the Kwyk Styk is a bit smoother draw to me. It is slightly longer than the Raven, and has a bit more "pre-load" at the beginning of the draw...so to me it feels like it's smoother getting back to the same weight at my draw length...which is almost 29".
Looking forward to getting to chrono to really see how they are shooting as far as speed. I'm thinking not much difference at all....

That's a very nice looking bow Curt. I have never seen a Kempf bow in person, I hope to one day try one. Thanks for the pics and review. Glen

Guru that is one beautiful bow. Love the longbow limbs. I have one of Jack's Falcon one-piece longbows right now and I am in the market for a second so I'm gonna hop on his waiting list.
Do you happen to know how the raven longbow might compare to one of his one piece longbows? Anyway awesome pictures!!
