I posted a while back that there is a possibility of a bow only hunting club in Bartow County coming up for next year.
It is located about halfway between Cartersville and Canton Ga. in Bartow County right at the Bartow/Cherokee line, surrounded by the Allatoona WMA.
It is easy access from Marietta, Rome, Cumming, and Roswell/Alpharetta areas.
It will take at least about 35 members at $500 each to secure the lease. If we get enough interest, it could be TRAD BOW only, if not we can open it up to wheelie bows.
The deer population is decent and growing since there is a successful coyote removel program in progress. Lots of Turkeys, and four different Bears have been caught on game cameras.
What I need now is to get a feel for how much interest we will have in this, with commitments starting as soon as this hunting season is over.
If you would be intersted in this, please post here so I can get a count on potential members.
Thanks

I am interested and already on the lease. I met you and your neighbor in the road a week or two back. My son also hunts traditional and is 17 years old. He is hunting on the lease as a minor and I assume he could still hunt with me if this thing goes through?

It all depends if Steve keeps it and goes bow only in this section, or if he looses it and we pick it up.
If Steve keeps the club, he makes the rules.
If we get control, then we do what we want.
How's the hunting going. I may be able to turn you on to a good WMA spot if you are interested.

It took me a while, but I finally found an area with a pretty good game trail and several rub lines. I placed my son on it and I have backed off in another area near this spot. He is seeing some deer, mostly small bucks. If I can keep him seeing deer, then he doesn't get so discouraged. I can always use more spots though if you are willing to share.

Possible I might be movng to this part of the state in the next few months. If I do move then I would be very interested if it was a bow only club.

Might be moving somewhere near Calhoun, but looks like it might be longer than expected, but could be before next season.

Are the deer moving up in that area? Mornings or evenings? It has been awfully slow for me and my son on the lease.

What I'm seeing on my trail cams around here, mostly late evening and after dark. Not getting many pictures during the morning til dusk.
The deer are here, just gotta figure out when and where

I will. I have a bit of land over in Alabama in the Talladega National Forest where I usually hunt. It would be nice to have another spot closer by. It is also appealing to have a bow only area. I have a lot of gun hunters and dog hunters to compete with over there.
Thank you
