I have been chosen to bring this news to you. I decided to do it in Pow Wow, and hope that will be all right, because this is where she was most known by us. Our beloved, talented, generous, fiesty, sweet, humorous Barb Dumas has passed. I will do the best I can with this although, as I am sure most of you will know, it isn't easy for me. We had become very cyber-close in the last year or so. Our Barb was taken by a tragic car accident, while driving in her beloved hills of Georgia that she mentioned often here on the forum. It happened yesterday. Barb wants no fuss, no service, nothing sent from her friends here. At her instructions she will be cremated and her ashes will be cast to the ocean by her son - she was an avid swimmer. She requested that it go as unnoticed as possible, for her family, as I understand. She gave very specific instructions for disposing of some of her properties and projects and her soul mate will take care of all of that as he is able to, to honor her last wishes. As you can imagine this is terribly hard for him. There is not much else I can tell you but I'm sure you will agree, "Friend Girl" will be sorely missed here on this forum, as she will in her family's hearts. God Bless, you Barb Dumas and may you be in the hands of our Lord at peace, friend girl. I will miss your "Barbs" and your kindnesses so much.

Things like this are never easy and therefore I don't know what to say. My condolences to her family and friends. I enjoyed her posts and the spirit she conveyed. She will indeed be missed. While she wanted no fuss, I do hope that we can at least do a remembrance of some sorts, perhaps posted at the top of the page.
