Thanks, Dave but they still aren't clear enough to suit me, especially when i see such good results with others digitals.

For any of you that will be in Kalamzoo in a couple weeks, I'll wear the one Guru made for me around my neck at the show on Saturday. If you need to see one to have a better idea how to make one, just stop me and we'll talk.

Guys, you can get a couple of turkey wings at the grocery store for just a couple bucks.
Count me in on the swap.
Anybody with much wingbone experience got a preference for what size turkey makes the best sounding call?
I've been using shellack on mine so far, cuz its safe to put in yer mouth, but it yellows pretty badly and is looking pretty grody after a couple weeks time. Then I read that they're supposed to sound best wet. Do y'all seal yours? With what?

I don't think size matters much FWIW. I've been sealing mine with Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic spray on the outside but that is more to protect and bring out the decorations. I've always used it for arts and crafts I've messed with and even used it to protect the Bear Skull I took some years back (that now lives with Frank S., since the first St. Judes auction).

Dave, Please count me in. I'd like to give this a try. I'm not real experienced as I've only made one wingbone call for myself but I'd like to do this. Thanks for organizing. Tony

Thought I would throw in a tip for making your wingbone art. I have used "Sharpies" and such in the past to draw or write on these calls. Until I found out how easy it was to use a paint pen. You can get them at a department store, but I suggest a quick trip to your local hobby or art supply stroe. They cost about the same as a "Sharpie" too, a bit more but not much. I go to a chain called Michael's around here. The variety and quality are better. Make sure you get pens marked with the finest point they have to offer and normally have a chart there to see the difference in point width. These make your artwork...well artwork. It will take your calls eye appeal to another level. Give it a shot.

We have 22 signed up. Plenty of room for more. I know I said I'd run sign-up till Feb 15th, but as we're not seeing much action now, I'm thinking of matching up the names we have after the K'zoo Expo so people can get started. If anyone signs up after that, we'll just do an additional match-up names. UNLESS anyone has a problem with that plan.
