I'm with you, Killie! Us uppity types can be found in the most "unconventional" of places...Board rooms, Senate floors, and yes, even Archery ranges . Pretty cool...!

I don't know, I'm going to Baltimore this weekend. If I see any "girls" shooting I'll let you "guys" know. It will be good to see you again Killdeer. Good thread. Looks like it stirred lots of response. I agree with you, it is "self-limiting" and just really, really sad. (But my agreeing with you doesn't count. I know better than to disagree. )
P.S.Do I get voted back in now? Please?

"shooting is not for girls" I agree 100%. Killy, send me all of your bows. And while you're at it, send me all of your guns to. girls shouldn't play with such things Posts: 2853 | From: martville ny | Registered: Mar 2003

Aram, we voted you back in, but you can't use the ladies' room yet.

Great thread Killie! I enjoyed reading it and also enjoyed watching Tarz' girls on the video. Wow...they have grown. In some ways I am a lot like Sarah.
BTW...the surest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't!

Not shooting but flyfishing made her a custom rod and she loves it - only 4. I started her bow and she keeps on hounding me for it.

I posted on here the other day and, as I (too) often do anymore, I must have hit the "close" button instead of the "Add Reply" when I finished. I love the thread and after Baltimore and Hickory (next two weekends) I am gonna get back here for all these great Full Draw Pics and fill up the new Page 16 on my Traditional Bows Drawn pages of my web site.
I just last Friday found myself teaching a crash course in Trad shooting to the Lady Marine who is the ex-wife of another great Marine friend - so she could introduce her Colonel's Scout Troop to trad archery this past weekend. She was a good compound shooter (Her ex-husband bought her my old wheel bow when I quit that), and a natural athlete and shooter. We had a blast and she took to trad like a duck to water. She brought back the "stuff" I loaned her for the Scouts yeasterday and said it went great, she had a ball, the kids had a ball, the Col. was happy as a clam, he and the Kids sent thanks to me - and (GunnySgt) Sara is hooked on trad and is coming back for more shooting - wants to get a primitive bow now. She says, "... the more primitive the better - I'm not into it for the competition, I'm into it for the SHOOTING!" You go, girl! I'm delighted to help any that I can. She'll outshoot me in no time - just like her ex-husband did - LOL.
(Now let's see if I can find the "Add Reply" button - )

Good going, Bernie! Nice to see ol' Countrygirl pop her head in the door, too. I know all too well her scrappy nature, and do my best to stay on her good side. Besides, I'm scared of Tom.
I hope to get lots of good pics this weekend at Baltimore, though it looks like my camera is starting to fall prey to the vicissitudes of time and travel. I hope it doesn't crap out completely. I think I will bring my film camera as backup.
Archery lasts a lifetime.

Take this pink ribbon off my eyes I'm exposed And it's no big surprise Don't you think I know Exactly where I stand This world is forcing me To hold your hand 'Cause I'm just a girl, little 'ol me Don't let me out of your sight I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite So don't let me have any rights
Oh...I've had it up to here! The moment that I step outside So many reasons For me to run and hide I can't do the little things I hold so dear 'Cause it's all those little things That I fear
'Cause I'm just a girl I'd rather not be 'Cause they won't let me drive Late at night I'm just a girl, Guess I'm some kind of freak 'Cause they all sit and stare With their eyes
I'm just a girl, Take a good look at me Just your typical prototype
Oh...I've had it up to here! Oh...am I making myself clear? I'm just a girl I'm just a girl in the world... That's all that you'll let me be! I'm just a girl, living in captivity Your rule of thumb Makes me worry some
I'm just a girl, what's my destiny? What I've succumbed to Is making me numb I'm just a girl, my apologies What I've become is so burdensome I'm just a girl, lucky me Twiddle-dum there's no comparison
Oh...I've had it up to! Oh...I've had it up to!! Oh...I've had it up to here!
